In science, objectivity
and neutrality were achieved through containment and control of nature in
pristine vacuumed space, which has defined our relationship to the natural
environment. But now, as we are experiencing, our preconceived norms are being
challenged. Architects are not scientists and architecture cannot change
science, but we do have the tools to recalibrate the spatial interface among humans, nature, and buildings.
And in this case to elevate the study of ecology.
